“I am an experienced Child Life Educator and Certified Child Life Specialist, and I am an advocate, educator, practitioner, trainer, mentor, volunteer and consultant.
Samuel Golter said, “There is no profit in curing the body if in the process we destroy the soul” and Walt Disney said, “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” It is where those two quotes intersect that you will find my work, hopes and dreams.
I work extensively to promote and support the rights and needs of ill children and their families and have helped to introduce sustainable child and family friendly healthcare practices globally.
I have enjoyed working with children and families in the acute and chronic settings across many settings including oncology, haematology, pediatric intensive care, emergency department, inpatient surgery, outpatient surgery, acute dialysis and outpatient dialysis.
I am a keynote speaker and workshop presenter discussing my passion to implement sustainable practices that make healthcare more child and family friendly, and I have had the pleasure of volunteering on medical missions in South America, The Middle East, Asia and Africa.
I love my poodles, travelling, reading, sewing and everything Texas.”
