SUMMARY

At its core healthcare is relational. Attachment is the study of relationships. There are universal strategies of attachment that are activated under stress, that have been categorised as secure and insecure. Medical intervention will likely activate secure or insecure attachment behaviours. This webinar will provide an overview of attachment theory and its possible application to paediatric nursing as it relates to the child, caregiver/parent, and nurse.
